Memorial Day weekend is the single busiest time for PGR members. Each year PGR members honor & remember those who have died in service to the United States of America.

The Patriot Guard Riders are honored to have been invited to participate along with members of the community, Veterans, and others at the Annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Mills Springs National Cemetery.

Honor the men and women who served our country by joining us for our Memorial Day Services. The National Memorial Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Mill Springs National Cemetery, commemorating those who have served across the nation and across the world.

Then, join us at the Mill Springs Battlefield Visitor Center for our 6th Annual Memorial Day Picnic -- Hamburger or Hotdog with chips and drink - $5.

This year, the Gathering of the Guard will take place June 9-11, 2017 in Ashland, KY.  Ass't State Captain, Tom Epperly (and his PGR crew), will be hosting.  Here are the details...
FRIDAY - arrive at your convenience; BoD meeting will take place at 8:00 pm at the hotel.  The hotel that will accommodate us this year is the Econo Lodge, 205 KY 1947 (just off I-64 at exit 172), Grayson, KY 41143.  This hotel was just remodeled less than one year ago and the nightly rate will be $53.90 (including tax).  The rooms are equipped with either two queen sized beds or one king sized bed, a microwave, mini-fridge, a desk, and TV.  They serve a continental breakfast consisting of coffee, bagels, orange juice and donuts.  Please contact them to make your reservations ASAP at 606.474.7854.  There is a block of 20 rooms reserved under Tom Epperly's name.  Just ask for one of those rooms.  They have smoking and non-smoking rooms available. 
There are also several fast food restaurants in the immediate vicinity to include McDonalds, Wendy's, Arbys, Tudors, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, Subway, Hardee's, KFC, etc.  There's also a number of eat-in restaurants as well.
There is also a KOA campground in the area, one mile off exit 179, (next to the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE).  If you would like to stay there instead of the hotel, contact them at 606.929.5504. 
There will be a Ride Captain/Sr. Ride Captain's meeting (approximately 9:00 pm) following the Board of Director's meeting (8:00 pm).
SATURDAY - PGR member's meeting at 9:30 am SHARP at the hotel.  Ride to Remember begins at 10:00 am with a stop at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE and two stops at desigatated fuel stations.  The final stop will for dinner at the restaurant at Greenbo Lake State Resort park, in Greenup, KY.  After the buffet style dinner, we will return to the Econolodge for R&R.  Drinks will be provide at the motel.
SUNDAY - depart at your leisure and ride safe!  On behalf of Tom Folsom and myself, we want to express our thanks for each of you who are able to attend!

Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a 285 bed long term skilled nursing care center in Wilmore, Kentucky.  We have an annual Veterans Appreciation Picnic the 2nd Saturday in August EVERY YEAR to honor our lost and current veterans.  We have bands and plenty of activities.
